| This is an old picture from St. Pat's Hall School (a couple of classes),
and Bill is wondering how many
of the people are still around, AND WHAT THEY DID WITH THEIR LIVES. One
of them was the chief of police in St. John's. Bill is the one holding
the sign. The year is 1944. Maybe someone has seen this picture at their
grandfather's or father's, or maybe some of the guys in the picture remember
it. The boy standing behind Bill, on his left, is Jerry Power. Jerry's
Dad was the sports writer for the "Daily News". Also, he had two brothers
who played hockey for St. Bons.
Here are the names of some of the others: "Mouse" Iveny, Charlie Picco and Gordie Picco (no relation), Micky Michaels, Jerry Power, Mike Walsh, Dick Karnie, John Spry, Kevin Squires, Tommy Hicky, John Madden, Roger Hansford, and a second Bill Hogan (no relation), Lennard Noftal, Jerry Doyle, ?? Goobie, ?? Fitzgerald, ?? Casey, ?? Goss, and ?? Bennett. Some of the names might not be spelt right, but Bill is sure that they will be recognized. The two teachers: the one on the left was Brother McIntire, and the one on the right is Brother Gilles - Bill thinks they were both from New York state. Bill ran into the other Bill Hogan in the Army; they were both in the same unit until he went to Korea.
